A flywheel is a wheel that spins really fast to shoot a ball. We decided to use a flywheel as our method of scoring because it eliminates the need to expand our robot, and throws the ball to the height of the goal. We have two stages in our flywheel, the flywheel stage and the holding stage. The flywheel stage uses a 4" 40A flex wheel and the holding stages uses a 3" 40A flex wheel. We wanted to have two large wheels that would throw the ball in a certain direction based on the speed of the motors, which was inspired by Dublin Robotics Team 330D.
