Team picture with our members and mentors
We decided that we would have distinct build and code teams based on what people would prefer to focus on. We also wanted to have group of people who are focused on electronics, which would be incorporated into the code team.
Build team: The build team would focus on designing the robots, manufacturing the parts, and assembling the robot. They would use Fusion 360, a CAD software, to design parts, which would be printed with a 3D printer. They would also manufacture metal parts using machines such as, a mill, a drill press, a band saw, and many other machines in our shop.
Code team: The code team would focus on programming the robot. This includes vision sensing and positioning, which would be used during the interaction period, as well as regular autonomous functions, which would be used during the isolation period.
Electronics team: The electronics team is a sub-team of the code team. They would focus on familiarizing themselves with the sensors and other devices used on the robot. The electronics team also has to be proficient in programming, since the sensors and electronic devices are heavily used during the interaction period.
